The second stop of the “Listening · Witnessing | Dentist Interview Series” has arrived as scheduled. This time, we focus our gaze on Shanghai, stepping into the Oral Department of Shanghai Xupu Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital to engage in direct dialogue with senior practitioners.
Due to the busy daily clinical workload of the department, doctors need to focus entirely on patient care, making this interview session relatively brief. Although Dr. Wang Yue’s answers are concise, they are all derived from real clinical practice, offering both professionalism and practical reference value. Now, let’s listen together to this sincere sharing from the frontline of oral healthcare.
1. How long has the hospital been using the Roson dental chair?
Dr. Wang: We’ve been using this dental chair for about five or six years. It was here when I joined, and this specific unit was newly installed this year.
Question: What factors do you prioritize most when selecting a dental chair?
Dr. Wang: I focus on three core points: patient comfort, the performance stability of the equipment, and its ability to enhance clinical workflow efficiency.
Question: Has your patient reception efficiency improved after using the Roson dental chair?
Dr. Wang: Since switching to this new chair, I feel the patient reception rate has increased, and patient satisfaction has also risen. As soon as patients lie down on the chair, they remark how new and advanced the equipment is! Because of this chair, they particularly appreciate us and consequently acknowledge our technical expertise, feeling our equipment is very state-of-the-art. Features like the various designs and the one-touch start function are considered very good by everyone, quite convenient and efficient.
2. Are the shortcut keys convenient to use? Do they assist in treatment?
Question: How is the reset/memory function shortcut key on the Roson dental chair? Does it help with treatment?
Dr. Wang: It’s very fast and achieves the angle I need. After we finish a procedure, all functions can be activated promptly, bringing great convenience to us medical staff!
Question: Is the shortcut key for the mouth rinse and cuspidor flushing convenient to use?
Dr. Wang: Yes, it saves time and speed, and also brings convenience to patients — patients don’t need to get up to spit and then have us flush; the operations happen simultaneously, improving work efficiency.
Supplement: After pressing the key, the mouth rinse begins dispensing water. The system automatically initiates cuspidor flushing after 8 seconds and closes after 15 seconds, requiring no repeated operation. This saves additional operational time for medical staff, avoids patient discomfort caused by forgetting to flush the cuspidor, and prevents water waste from forgetting to turn it off. More importantly, it enables timely cuspidor cleaning, reducing germ residue inside, thus aiding hospital infection prevention and control safety from both operational workflow and hygiene perspectives.*
Question: How does the Roson dental chair’s intelligent flushing key (end-of-day key) perform in terms of hospital infection prevention and control safety?
Dr. Wang: Yes! Especially that end-of-day key is also very convenient! Our department installed several units at once this time, and I’ve told other staff about it — highlighting its advantages over other chairs — we must definitely utilize them!
Supplement: Gently touching the end-of-day key raises the chair to its highest position and automatically starts a 5-minute cuspidor flushing program. This thoroughly cleans waste from the cuspidor and drainage pipes, keeping the pipes dry and clean. This effectively inhibits bacterial growth and odor generation, controlling from the source of cleanliness, significantly reducing the risk of nosocomial infection, and greatly assisting hospital infection prevention and control safety.*
3. Do you find inspection services like today’s necessary?
Dr. Wang: Absolutely necessary, because when we encounter issues, they can be resolved for us immediately. Also, there are things we didn’t understand before, and having on-site technical guidance is also something we are very thankful for.
Question: Considering the characteristics of oral treatment needs among patients in the Shanghai region, can the Roson dental chair effectively adapt to these needs?
Dr. Wang: I think it performs quite well. Especially after installing this new chair, it’s noticeably apparent that compared to previous chairs, its functions and performance align better with our doctors’ treatment time. Efficiency is definitely improved, and patient satisfaction is also very high!
